A Positive
With nearly 5000 Facebook friends, most who are artists themselves, my Facebook was hacked. Not just sorta hacked but deep down hacked. Not just figuring out my password but also changing the email address, I’m blocked out, can’t fix it and sorry to say that FB isn’t very user friendly when it comes to getting it back, and there is no one at FB to talk too. So, it’s gone, well, not gone but of no use to me and hell only knows what the hackers will do with it. I did go into my stolen page via my wife’s FB page and posted on it that it was hacked and to not except any friends requests and ignore any strange posts that might show up, supposedly from me, but not from me. Still there is a positive in this.
I have decided to no longer use FB, I won’t create another page, I have had issues with them and how they run things anyway, so I’m done with them. Thing is I feel lighter for it. It’s like when the studio gets cluttered and you decide to purge, get rid of all the junk, you just feel lighter, freer. So there it is, that positive from what at first seemed a negative.
I think too, for me anyway, I was relying on FB to much to show my paintings, now I’ll spend more time on my website, where I should have been spending more effort in the first place. I am, for now, still on Instagram, so check it out if you get a chance.
One other thing. If you have looked at what I have been posting here on my website lately you will have noticed a change in my art, my paintings, a big change. It is a change I have been feeling a need for some years but just wasn’t ready to explore. Now I’m ready. I’ll speak more of this in the next ‘My Journal’ and my newsletter.
Stay well.
