Upcoming Shows

With the heat outside I decided to get some much needed busy work done. Certainly I would rather be painting despite the heat, but there are times I must spend on the computer. I haven't updated any new images of my paintings on my website for awhile, nor have I written a new blog or newsletter, so it is about time. It has been a busy spring getting ready for shows and the summer will be equally as busy it seems. So here is a list of upcoming shows.

Capturing Domenico Farm, July 3 to August 12, a reception on July 6, 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Collective in Lafayette Colorado. This is a unique showing of six pastel artists (Clare Scott, Dawn Buckingham, Mike Ray, Norbert Nagel, Sabrina Stiles and of course me) capturing the soon to be developed Domenico farm in Lafayette, Co. All paintings are in pastel, we each have a unique view of the farm, and this promises to be quite an exciting event. Dawn will be giving a one day workshop on July 14th and on July 15th from 8:30 to 11:30 there will be a Plein Air paint out and most if not all of the participating artists will be there along with anyone else who wishes to come and paint with us. You can see an add for the show in the June 2018 issue of Southwest Art Magazine on the bottom half of page 37.

The 14th Annual Mile High National Pastel Exhibition, hosted by the Pastel Society Of Colorado, July 12 to August 27, with a reception on July 12, 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the PACE (Parker Arts, Culture And Events Center) In Parker, CO. My painting Sleeping, which is posted on my website and won the Best Of Show in the online show Illuminated 2018 was chosen to be in the Mile High Show.

July Put Up Show, For The Love Of The West at the Town Hall Arts Center in Littleton, CO. I'll post more info on this show as it comes in.

Plein Air Artists Colorado 22cd Annual National Juried Arts Exhibition And Sale, to be held at the Sorrel Sky Gallery in Durango, Co.  The show runs from October 5 to October 28, there will be a reception on October 5, from 5 to 7pm.

It is not till January 2019 but I have been invited back to the Coors Western Art Show, in their Young Guns, Club Artist category. This show is considered by many to be one of the premier art shows here in the west. It was a very exciting show for me as I sold five of the six paintings I had on display. I will post more information about the Coors show as it draws near.

Colorado has been kind to me and my artistic endeavors and I strive to continue to create the very best work I can. I wish to thank all those, judges, curators, fellow artists, family and especially my wife Kathy who has had to live with an artist for forty-five years, with whom I could never accomplish what I have in the short two and half years here in Colorado, Thank You All. And thanks to those who read my blog and newsletter, no matter how infrequently I may post them.
